Capturing the light of nature is the biggest artistic challenge for me. I always wonder how to capture the smooth and tender light of the morning sun with the color. I always contemplate how to color the calm and warm light of the moon. The professional photographer Elena Kalis who takes photos inside of the ocean has given me the answer: The sunlight is not white, it is in the color of the rainbow. My inspiration for concept art also comes from the natural environment.
As an illustrator, telling a story that everyone can relate to is the most important element. Before I start to draw, I research as much as I can to get a concept in my mind. I experimented with different colors to fit my concept. This allows me to portray a certain atmosphere, which I tried to express in my art to the audience.
I created my piece primarily with Photoshop, my experience and understanding of acrylic and oil help me to create a strong style and aesthetic for my digital painting. Strong bold brushes and soft color adjustments provide the viewer an enjoyable contrast and attract them to my world. My ultimate goal is to invite the viewers to my own world of art and dye them with my colors.
